A rating agency and regulatory perspective of innovation in the insurance industry. In this session, AM Best will present its approach to evaluating innovation in the context of its financial strength rating. We discuss the current environment and analyze the impacts of technology, society, and demographics on insurance and will present a common framework using which we propose to evaluate innovation. We will also have a timely and essential dialogue to get  a regulatory perspective of innovation and how regulators can regulate innovation and encourage more insurance coverage while ensuring solvency and policyholder interests.
